Georgia: Independence Drive Accelerating

IDFI congratulates every citizen and supporter of Georgia with Independence Day. Especially for this day the Institute releases for the first time a secret document kept in the archives of the USA. This document was prepared on 24 April 1990, at an early stage of Georgian independence, by Directorate Intelligence of the USA as an analytical memorandum on the events developed in Georgia.

Media Advocacy Coalition Statement Concerning the Special Statement of the CEO of Rustavi 2

On May 6, CEO of Rustavi 2, Nika Gvaramia and the employees of the TV channel issued the statement. According to the CEO, the channel was under the video and audio surveillance. Nika Gvaramia presented the surveillance footage, recorded in the offices of Gvaramia and the Deputy CEO Nino Shubladze, to the media.  Citing the source from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Gvaramia stated that the video recordings depicted the conversations taking place in his office.
